Elvis Costello rescata uno de los mejores álbumes de toda su carrera, “King of America”, que relanzará ampliado en una nueva caja el 1 de noviembre, titulada “King of America & Other Realms”.
“King Of America”, fue el décimo LP de estudio de Costello, publicado en 1986, un disco que fue un remanso de calma y tranquilidad tras su incierto, y decepcionante, “Goodbye Cruel World”, en su propia opinión el disco peor de su carrera.
Dos años después regresó renovado con un álbum “americana” más orgánico y natural, y, lo más importante, con mejores canciones. Fue el plácido disco de “Brilliant Mistake”, “Indoor Fireworks”, “American Without Tears” o “Jack of All Parades” y un buen número de cortes country y rockabilly. Costello remató su gran 1986 con un disco muy bueno y muy diferente, el espinoso y eléctrico “Blood and Chocolate”.
Ahora ese disco sencillo de 1986 pasa a ser una caja de seis discos, incluyendo una edición remasterizada del álbum de Costello de 1986 “King of America”, originalmente coproducido con T Bone Burnett.
Además, incluye un concierto en vivo inédito grabado en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres en 1987, más numerosas demos inéditas, tomas descartadas y grabaciones en vivo, un ensayo de 35 páginas del propio Costello y fotografías raras. Como lo expresa sucintamente un comunicado de prensa, la caja “celebra y explora el amor, la fascinación y la influencia de toda la vida del compositor por la música estadounidense”.
También va a salir a la venta una versión más escueta y económica en CD doble que contiene la versión remasterizada de “King of America” y un segundo disco con las rarezas destacadas de la colección.
Esta es la versión recientemente remasterizada 2024 de “Indoor Fireworks”.
