El pasado viernes, la publicación publicó la lista de las “200 mejores canciones country de todos los tiempos”, que iba desde Willie Nelson hasta Shania Twain, desde George Strait hasta la mismísima Beyoncé, pasando por nombres tan ilustres como Buck Owens, Jimmie Rodgers, Merle Haggard, Roy Acuff, Bob Wills, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride, Kenny Rogers, Brenda Lee, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, y, cómo no, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Wanda Jackson, Tony Joe White y Elvis Presley.
Además de la Carter Family, patriarcas de la música country.
Sin embargo, la superestrella country de 78 años, y miembro del Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll, ha ocupado el puesto número uno. Y es que “Jolene” sin duda es una grandísima canción. Según la veterana publicación:
“Jolene es el pináculo de Dolly Parton como cantante, compositora y narradora: la mejor canción country de desamor”. En “Jolene”, la cantante le ruega a otra mujer que no se lleve a su hombre.
