LOS 14 LPS DE ESTUDIO DE GENESIS VAN A SER REEDITADOS EL VINILO ESTE VERANO

Este verano, 14 álbumes de estudio de Genesis lanzados entre 1970 y 1997 van a ser reeditados en vinilo en todo el mundo.

Impresos en vinilo de 180 gramos, las reediciones, con versiones mezcladas y remasterizadas por Nick Davis, estarán disponibles en tres fases.

Desde el 23 de agosto con “Foxtrot”, el doble “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway”, “Duke”, “Abacab” y “Genesis”. El 6 de septiembre se lanzarán “Nursery Cryme”, “Selling England By The Pound”, “Wind & Wuthering”, el doble “We Can’t Dance” y el también doble “Calling All Stations”.

La serie concluirá el 27 de septiembre con la reedición de “Trespass”, “A Trick Of The Tail”, “…And then there were three…” e “Invisible Touch”.

Los álbumes siguen el viaje de la banda de ser un grupo que destaca en el panorama del rock progresivo pero sin éxito comercial a ser la banda más popular e importante – desde un punto de vista objetivo- de los años 80. Álbum que sacaban, álbum que era número uno. El punk no acabó con el rock progresivo, y con Genesis mucho menos.

Formada en 1967 en la secuela de pago por los amigos Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips y Mike Rutherford, la formación de la banda se solidificó a principios de los años 70 con la incorporación del baterista Phil Collins y el guitarrista Steve Hackett. Se estableció como innovadores del rock progresivo con álbumes como “Trespass” (1970), “Foxtrot” (1972) y el estupendo “Selling England by the Pound” (1973).

Después de la partida de Gabriel en 1975, Collins asumió con naturalidad el cargo de cantante. A finales de los 70, principio de los 80 la banda se transformó en un trío orientado al pop, consiguiendo éxitos con “Follow You Follow Me” y “Misunderstanding”. Para colmo, Phil Collins iniciaba una muy exitosa carrera en solitario paralela que se sumaba al siempre interesante trabajo de Peter Gabriel fuera del grupo.

Cada miembro siguió carreras en solitario en los años 80, mientras que Genesis dominaba las listas internacionales con una serie de seis álbumes de platino y multiplatino, incluidos “Abacab”, “Genesis” e “Invisible Touch”.

En 1991, “We Can’t Dance” fue el último álbum de estudio de Collins con la banda. Banks y Rutherford regresaron en 1997 con el cantante Ray Wilson para “Calling All Stations”, último álbum de estudio de toda una leyenda del rock británico.
