El prestigioso premio de la industria musical Ivor Novello anunció ayer su lista de nominados para la edición 2024 con más de 70 compositores con RAYE, Sampha y Yussef Dayes a la cabeza.

Son unos premios mucho más sintéticos que otros igualmente famosos. Son apenas 8 categorías que incluyen Mejor Álbum, Mejor Canción Contemporánea y el Premio Rising Star con Amazon Music. La entrega de premios con Amazon Music tendrá lugar justo dentro de un mes, el 23 de mayo en la Grosvenor House de Londres.
Sampha y Yussef Dayes tienen la mayor cantidad de nominaciones con dos cada uno; cada artista compite por el premio al Mejor Álbum por sus respectivos discos ‘Lahai’ y ‘Black Classical Music’. También han sido nominados juntos a Mejor Canción en Música y Letra gracias a su colaboración ‘Spirit 2.0’, que aparece en ‘Lahai’.
Otros nominados a Mejor Álbum incluyen el álbum debut de RAYE ‘My 21st Century Blues’, ‘False Lankum’ de Lankum y ‘Crazymad, For Me’ de CMAT.
Por otra parte, Blur también han sido nominados por “The Narcissist” en la categoría de Mejor Canción en Música y Letra, 29 años después de su primera nominación a los Ivors con ‘Parklife’. ‘Black Friday’ de Tom Odell, ‘Sunshine Baby’ de The Japanese House y ‘Black Swan’ de Victoria Canal también competirán en la categoría
Mientras tanto, en el premio PRS For Music Most Performed Work, Jazzy y Kenya Grace reciben sus primeras nominaciones al Ivor, con sus canciones ‘Giving Me’ y ‘Strangers’ respectivamente. Harry Styles también ha sido nominado por ‘As It Was’, junto con la colaboración de Ice Spice y PinkPantheress ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2’ y la canción de Central Cee y Dave, ‘Sprinter’.
